What People Say About Us

  • Pleasant Caring Atmosphere

A pleasant caring atmosphere is evident upon arrival at the home. Staff always welcoming (at whatever hour) and constantly good natured with residents. Most staff are long serving, providing continuity of care and understanding of residents and their needs.

  • Very Happy

My aunt is very happy and contented at Cartref. Cartref has a very pleasant and happy atmosphere with plenty of varied social activities and a very friendly staff. I couldn't wish for her to be in a better place.

    T.L. (Nephew of Resident)

  • Really Happy at Cartref

My mother in law is really happy at Cartref. She is treated kindly and with respect at all times. Her health has improved greatly over the last year since she has been at Cartref.
We are able to visit at any time of the day and staff are always pleasant and happy to see us. Residents seems to be treated as individuals and the staff relate well to them. A very happy home.

  • I would not hesitate to recommend Cartref

My mum moved into Cartref almost 2 years ago whilst awaiting hip replacement surgery. Following this surgery she opted to remain in Cartref. She has been treated with a great deal of care, respect and friendship by all members of staff. Cartref provides many activities and when weather permits, trips out which my mum enjoys immensely. She is always clean and well dressed - her clothes are chosen with care by her carers. She enjoys the company of the staff and other residents. Her surroundings are always comfortable, clean and clutter free. I would not hesitate to recommend Catref as a place of safety and care for loved ones - it is aptly named!!

  • A well run care home

A well run care home. Staff are mature and very friendly and show consideration for residents at all times. The staff all show an interest in the care of their residents and look after them very well. The meals provided are varied and of a very good standard. The home is kept very clean and always appears to be fresh. The gardens which the residents can use is well maintained.

  • Keep up the good work

I/We visit my mum every other day at various times. Without fail there is a lot of laughter and happiness shown by all (staff and residents). As a visitor I am always made welcome and on occasions have been encouraged to join in card games and quizzes. Mum often tells me how happy she is. She also tells me how wonderful the girls (staff) are and looks forward to her 'lovely' meals. I really cannot stress how happy both mum and myself are with Cartref. I work in a large company and already recommend it to others. Keep up the good work---and thanks!

  • A warm welcome awaits

A warm welcome awaits in this extremely well run facility. Caring staff provide a safe and secure environment where interaction and involvement with residents is obvious to visitors like myself who often turn up unannounced. I am led to believe catering standards are high and meals are unrushed and thoroughly enjoyed! I would have no hesitation in recommending Cartref Lakeside to friends and family, and other potential users.

  • The care home that really does care!

This is a care home that really does care! I live in a care home of about 30-35 people, this is managed by caring people who care for us as individuals. There is of course as in many group situations house rules to abide by but they are few and then for the benefit of us all. The beds are single and changed every week. We have a bath, our rooms are cleaned every week. We are also encouraged to be as independent as within our capabilities. We have a large bus with a training manager. Also a caring manager who makes our life easy.

  • I would willingly recommend Cartref to others

I have found the staff most helpful in every way. It is a delightful home to be in and I would willingly recommend it to others.

  • Very caring and competent staff

My father has lived at Cartref since July 20. Throughout he has been well looked after by the very caring and competent staff and at all levels. The staff are very good at keeping me informed of my fathers state of health. The home is particularly good at keeping residents active and run a full programme of social and other events.

  • We will always be grateful...

We would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to look after our Mum during her stay with you. She was treated with dignity, kindness and, more importantly, love. Although her memory was a problem, everyone encouraged her and made her feel wanted. This was also true of our family, as we were made extremely welcome when we visited. The staff who cared for her did so in a way that was over and above what could be expected of them and we will always be grateful.
